Tibetan Singing Bowls have been used for centuries for healing and meditation purposes. They create a range of sounds to restore the regular vibratory frequencies for out-of-harmony parts of the body, mind and soul.
The sounds generated by Tibetan Bowls are an energy medicine that helps to heal from stress, pain and depression. Their unique tones create the ideal state for deep meditation, creative thinking and intuitive messages.
Keep the bowl on a flat surface or in your palm, and let it sit on the pillow. It steadies the bowl without dampening the sound. To make the bowl sing, use the striker. Hold your striker loosely in the same way you would a pencil, and give each end a try.
There are two ways you can perform. First, you can strike the outer upper rim and let the bowl ring out. This is particularly beneficial when used for meditation and mindfulness exercises.
You can also make your bowl really sing. When you strike the bowl, don’t pull the striker away abruptly. Instead, rub it steadily along the outer rim in one smooth motion.
The speed and amount of pressure you use will influence the song you and your bowl create together. Because of the healing frequencies, you can easily find yourself getting mindful as you continue to play.
